Workshop clients and staff art working in progress:
Each client chose from a selection of different black frame options for this workshop.

With a selection of different shapes and colours of tissue paper and acetate the clients glued down each piece onto a laminating acetate sheet. When they had completed their piece I then laminated and cut their pieces to size.
For many of the clients this was only their second or third time meeting me and their first experience of art working for a very long time. Some spoke of not doing any art since they were in school. Many were a little unsure of what to do or their ability to engage with the processes. For this reason I designed the workshop to be very simple. I was also on hand alongside the staff at Rose Cottage to offer gentle direction and words of encouragement where necessary.
Workshops kindly funded by the Adelaide Health Foundation, Community Health Initiative Scheme 2019
Supported by The Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland. Special thanks to Alan Carrick, Mary Mooney, Silva Schwer and all the staff, clients and friends of Rose Cottage.
